50 Cent is Looking SLIM

Have you guys seen 50 Cent lately? The once-chiseled rapper has lost his muscle. In preparation for his new movie, “Things Fall Apart,” 50 lost over 50 – pounds, that is – to play a cancer-ridden football player.

You won’t believe these photos if you haven’t seem them yet:

According to ThisIs50.com, he dropped from 214 pounds to 160 over the course of just nine weeks with a liquid diet and working out three hours a day. That is dedication! I could never imagine doing a liquid diet for one meal, much less NINE WEEKS! Also, I couldn’t imagine doing THREE HOURS a day on a treadmill. I would not be the first person to come to mind when someone would think of casting a character with cancer:

I found a great quote from 50 about his new movie, which he penned himself, via MTV: “It’s myself, Mario Van Peebles, Ray Liotta, Lynn Whitfield, and it’s a project that I wrote, produced and financed myself,” he said of the film. “It’s about a Heisman hopeful who could possibly be going to the league and everyone is assuming he’s gonna make it, and then he’s hit with an illness. I had a friend of mine who actually experienced cancer, and it’s what motivated me to write this screenplay. You don’t have to make everything personal, but that project was. That’s why I committed to playing a role where I lost 54 pounds. I had to discipline myself enough until I achieved it but … I got it.”

That dude is crazy. No matter what you think of his music or acting chops, that is some serious hard work to prepare for a movie. I have some serious respect for this man to do that.

What do you think of 50′s rapid weight loss? Crazy, right? Shoot me your thoughts or tweet me people: @rlytle.
