Chad Ochocinco to pay 1 millionth Twitter follower
If you guys don’t know who Chad Ochocinco is already, I’m sure if you’re interested in social media or making money – you will know the man now.
The Cincinnati Bengals star is a man on a mission. Back when he was still Chad Johnson, you probably would only know him as a football player. The only commercials I can even recall him on were the Go Daddy commercials a few years back:
Once Chad legally changed his last name to “Ochocinco,” he has been on a path of personal branding. You can see him on his UStream channel, “The Ocho Cinco Show,” or you can catch him on the hit ABC show, “Dancing With the Stars.”
That is not all, though. What many may see as his largest sounding-off board is his Twitter account. Check out @OGochocinco on Twitter and prepare to be entertained. The best part about the celebrity of Ochocinco is the fact that he embraces it so openly. In fact, he is looking to make somebody a little wealthier if they are his 1 millionth follower today. Here is his announcement on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning:
That’s right! The Ocho is prepared to shell out $10K to his 1 millionth follower if that number is reached today. At last count, it looked like he was a bit over 892,000 followers. It seems a bit out-of-reach if he’s hoping to get that number by tonight’s airing of “DWTS,” but crazier things have happened when money is involved.
Just letting everyone out there know; if that number does get close, I’m going to re-enter my @rlytle twitter handle into the sweepstakes!
