Drake’s Doc Hits MTV Tonight
I’ve been following Drake now since I first heard him live in concert with Lil Wayne in January 2009. Back then, nobody knew who the hell he was. At that time, America may have only known him as Jimmy Brooks, the wheelchair-bound kid from Degrassi: The Next Generation. Yeah, that dude to the right is the old Drake.
Now fast forward to 2009, when Drake dropped his mixtape, So Far Gone. No one even thinks about him as Jimmy Brooks, Aubrey Graham or any other name. He is now just Drake.
Well, he dropped his first studio album last week, Thank Me Later, which according to MTV.com has sold about 447,oo0 in its first week (check my article where I said 500,000. Close!).
There are some sweet tracks on this album (not as many as on his mixtape) such as: “Over,” “Unforgettable,” “Fancy” and “Up All Night.” Check those tracks out and I’m sure you’ll agree.
But, to commemorate Drake’s first studio album, MTV has put together a documentary that shows the two months leading up to the release of Thank Me Later. Check out this clip from the MTV website:
I’ll say one thing about this documentary. If it is anything like Lil Wayne‘s documentary, “The Carter,” it will be insane! That video got all-access to everything that is Wayne. I’m sure, though, this one will be a little more PG since it is cable. Plus, Drake will be more careful about this doc than Wayne was about his.
I’m excited as hell to see this doc tonight. Drake’s “Better Than Good Enough” documentary will air tonight on MTV at 10 PM eastern. If you do anything tonight, watch this!
