Making It Official: I’m a Top-5 MTV TJ Candidate!

So this post should have definitely been written yesterday but, through all the chaos of things, it got pushed to today. I have been on GO since the MTV TJ competition was announced back in early-June. Through all the promotions, the challenges and the lack of sleep in my life something amazing happened yesterday that made all of the work worth it:

That’s right! I made it as one of the top-5 finalists for the first-ever MTV TJ position. On Sunday, Aug. 1, I will be flying out to New York to compete in one final week of challenges which will ultimately culminate in a live finale on MTV Sunday, Aug. 8, at 10 PM on MTV. And when I say LIVE, I mean a LIVE finale. There won’t be any time delay in this show so anything could happen – which is why you will be checking it out!

Although I’ve made the top 5, it does not mean I no longer need ALL YOUR SUPPORT! No, actually, I need your help more than ever. Right now as we prepare for the live finale on Aug. 8, there are a few things that you can do to keep me at the top:

• “Show Your Support” for Ryan Lytle on the MTV TJ Fan Page. Yes, it’s exactly the same page where you voted for me the first time so you should know how easy it is to click the “Support” button. And, this time, you have the chance to enter to win free tickets to the MTV VMA Awards. So if you’re going through the support process just to get entered in the contest, why not support me! • Keep spreading the word to everyone you know – through Twitter, Facebook, Word-of-mouth, Texting, E-mailing, etc. Anything you have to do to make sure people know what’s going on is perfect. The more people that know what I’m doing, the better!

• All of the work that’s being done is culminating in a live show that will air Sunday, Aug. 8, at 10 PM on MTV. Now I must stress that this broadcast is LIVE! The first-ever MTV TJ will be chosen based on an audience vote. That means I need EVERYONE to be watching and supporting #lytle4MTV. Whether you plan your life around the TV schedule or not, I need you all to make sure to plan your lives around this one specific day. Right now, you should pencil in “MTV TJ Live Finale Aug 8 @ 10 PM – Support Ryan Lytle” in your calendar, on your phone, on the fridge. Whatever you have to do to remember this date and time, DO IT! This dream is so close and you can help me get there!

I am still blown away by all the support I have received from all of you. This has been a fun, exciting and stressful ride and I have loved every second of it. Just know that I don’t look at any of you as just followers or supporters – this is a family, a community. Everything I’ve received during the #lytle4MTV run has been love. I want you all to know I appreciate all of you and love what you’re all doing for me. Let’s keep it up a bit longer! Talk to you all again soon!
