Netflix: Coming to a Remote Near You
It looks like Netflix has an answer to those on-demand programs that have used “convenience” as its promotion point. Today, the direct-to-you movie company announced that some remotes will be accompanied by a button that will specify “Netflix.”
More on the new one-click button from Netflix chief product officer Neil Hunt:

Netflix has partnered with several electronics companies – including Dynex, Haier, Memorex, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and Toshiba – to add the specialized button to the remote.
It looks as though Netflix is continuing to make progress on moving away from depending on a DVD-only system. In November, the company offered its first stream-only plan for $7.99/month. Now, it looks like the company is going to make it even easier for people to access their product. It’s obvious that it will continue to expand its streaming library and grow its thriving subscription base of 16 million through 2011. There seems to be nothing that can stop Netflix, or even slow it down with all the great business decisions they’re making.
The only question I have now is, what does Hulu do to respond?
