Really? Bristol Palin making $30,000 … to talk?

There are not too many times when I’ll go outside the realm of a journalist’s perspective and be blown away by a story. But this one is just way too good to pass up.

Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is throwing her name into the speakers’ circuit. Again, I will repeat this. Bristol Palin will be giving professional speeches for cold, hard cash. Yes, my friends, Single Source Speakers has added Bristol to their collection of speakers.

Here’s a snippet from the Yahoo! news article that broke the story: “Bristol Palin, 19, is listed on the speaking group’s website as available for conferences, fundraisers, special events and holidays, as well as women’s, youth, abstinence and “pro-life” programs. Her fee is denoted by four question marks, meaning “Call to discuss!” The same designation is given to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.”

That’s right; the girl best known for being pregnant during her mother’s vice presidential campaign will be garnering as much money as a respected Super Bowl MVP. Look at Drew Brees after the Super Bowl with his son:

He even put ear protectors on his son! That should mean something here! At the very least, give him a little more than Bristol.

For those interested, here is the profile page for Bristol Palin on the Single Source Speakers website.

I don’t know. Maybe I’m being naive. What do you all think? Is it worth $30K to listen to a Bristol Palin speech?

Lets start this dialogue. Comment below or please tweet your thoughts to @rlytle.
