Want Your Own Show? Talk to Oprah

Oprah wants someone to follow in her footsteps and it looks like she is going to find that person in an upcoming show on her new channel.

According to Yahoo! News: “The talk show host is teaming up with reality TV producer Mark Burnett on a show searching for the next big TV personality. “Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star” will air on the Oprah Winfrey Network beginning in January, the same month of OWN’s launch.”

Oprah is looking for aspiring candidates at the moment. If you are interested in pitching your show, upload a video of yourself onto Oprah’s contest page. You can post your videos under categories such as traditional talk show, cooking, health and wellness, and interior design. You better make sure to upload soon, though, because casting calls are beginning this month in Atlanta, Dallas and Orange County, California.

What kind of show would you want to host if Oprah gave you the chance? Who knows, if you have a great idea why not go for it? There is nothing to lose!

  1. I’m pitching a holistic health show with personality :) This “O” competition might be a crazy way to do it, but creating a wellness show has always been my career goal and life passion. My show offers an entertaining, informative and empowering approach to wellness with a production style that allows volunteers to produce part of the show’s TV & online content (college & high school students, health practitioners, you, etc.). This allows for a diversity of voices to communicate their wisdom and experiences of health. Together, we can create a show that improves the health of our world. But, I need your help to do it.

Please visit my audition video to start voting & make this show happen:

You can vote as many times per day as you like until July 3. And please list wellness topics that are of interest to you in the comments section so that we can start generating a HUGE list of show ideas. Many, many thanks :)

  2. This sounds like a very ambitious project. Good luck! Let me know if Oprah approves!
